shopping list

Posted in Books, Outings by theracie on June 30, 2009

Claudia and I scoured Far East Plaza for bargains today. We spent a good 3 hours at the place and we didn’t even go into every single shop. I nearly bought – that $15 double collared top with Daschund prints, the $10 shirt covered with whimsical red outlines of hats, the vintage postman sling, the dress that was $32 at one shop and $37.50 at another…

Thank God for my self-control. I eventually left the place with only one item that cost $6. I am not going to reveal what it is. You might laugh at me.

Somehow, Claudia’s indecisiveness makes her an amusing shopping companion. She suggested Far East Plaza because she wanted to exchange a cardigan that was too sheer. When we were there, she bought a wide brown belt, which was eventually exchanged for another white belt just 1 hour later. And how she whined (haha) about the loss of the $25 top she coveted – It was snatched away by some ‘auntie’ while she was contemplating whether or not to purchase it.

On a sidenote, I have discovered that I have a weakness for gold studs on clothes, ribbons on anything (especially shoes) and prints! (:

Yes, yes, I know that today’s entry is like, soooooo superficial.

good morning, world.

I finally had a dream-free sleep last night! -runs around like a crazy chicken- Yes, it did help me get some proper rest. I woke up this morning only with the happy tune of my alarm clock.

A shoutout to Guan Rui who has been rushing to Boon Lay Sec to teach on weekdays: I’m really praying with you for supernatural strength (especially mental) to teach the kids there. May you be a channel of blessing to everyone around you and may you shine His light brightly! (: As usual, spam me with prayer requests, please!

Favourite photo of the day from Germany’s Look Book!

I like:
- The contrast of colours fighting for your attention
- How she left an inch of fushia to show above her belt
- The windswept hair

It’s me and my earl grey again. (: We have a love hate relationship – While I love the flavour, I hate the way it stains your teeth.

sleep woes

Posted in Musings by theracie on June 29, 2009

People have been commenting that I look tired / sleepy because my eye circles have darkened.

Anyway, the reason behind this is not because I have insufficient sleep. It’s because I haven’t been sleeping well.

I wake up prematurely (hours before my alarm rings) and I often toss and turn before falling into a fitful slumber. And I dream. About the strangest things!

Whether I’m aware of this or not – I have a lot on my mind. Drats! :(

look up

I like everything about this – his posture, the grey pullover, the tone and composition of the photo, the jeans, his lanky frame, the backdrop, his expression. (:

There’s something quite alluring about the length of his shirt sleeves. The peek of the white rolled on top of the pullover is just PERFECT. Perhaps if it would have looked different if his arms were placed otherwise.

It’s no wonder that I insist on my brother rolling up his shirt sleeves when he dresses formally. Which is like, once in a really blue moon!

Today: Fun in the sun. Never mind that we didn’t do well. The company rocked! Rest well, everyone!

Holy Spirit, walk with me, please? Every single day?

I’ve been with you, always. Didn’t you notice?

I was too distracted / busy / tired to talk to you.

Well, if you wanna walk together, it means that you need to hold my Hand in yours. I’ll give yours a squeeze when you get distracted / busy / tired.

Okay. I’ll talk, I’ll talk!

not too late

I’m sorry if my choice of words were too harsh.
I’m sorry if they hurt you deeply.
I’m sorry if what I asked/said came at the wrong time.

But I don’t apologise for wanting you to grow.

P/S: Today has been such a day of revelation. I’m off to my trusty paper journal. (:

to infinity and beyond!

Compiled a little album of photos from the past here. (: Digging up all these old images brought back numerous fond memories!

And her birthday blog from 2007 here. Going through the archives made me laugh.

It’s been a while since we talked. I miss you and I hope you’re doing okay.
